Are you eligible for the JobMaker Hiring Credit for additional employee(s) hired since 7 October 2020…?

The JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme is an incentive for businesses to employ additional young job seekers aged 16–35 years.

Under the scheme, eligible employers can access the JobMaker Hiring Credit for each eligible additional employee they hire between 7 October 2020 and 6 October 2021.

Through the scheme, employers will be able to claim up to $200 a week for each additional eligible employee they hire aged 16 to 29 years, and up to $100 a week for those aged 30 to 35 years.

Employees need to have completed a minimum average of 20 hours (worked or paid) per week during the time they were employed in the JobMaker period.

Employers will need to register before making a claim for JobMaker Hiring Credit payments. You do not need to be registered before you hire eligible employees.

You can register at any time before the end of the claim period.

If eligible, we recommend that you take the first step to register now so that you are ready to make a claim in February 2021.

Registration can be completed through ATO online services, the Business Portal, or through us as your registered tax agent.

Payments will be made in arrears following each JobMaker period.
