Mel Wear is the principal of Wear Accountants, a new firm established in July 2019. With more than 25 years of experience in public practice as a business adviser, tax professional and accountant, Mel is passionate about helping clients to maximise profits, legitimately reduce tax, and protect their assets. Mel is a Chartered Tax Advisor of the Tax Institute, and Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants. Mel holds a Master of Taxation degree (UNSW), and Bachelor of Commerce degree (USQ). She also holds a Diploma of Financial Services (FINSIA). Mel has a diverse client base of small to medium businesses, family businesses, self-funded retirees, and high net worth individuals. PRINCIPAL / CHARTERED TAX ADVISOR
Claire Nolan-Epplere is a Senior Accountant at Wear Accountants. Claire has over 16 years’ experience in the accounting industry, and has a love of acronyms, being a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) specialising in SME’s and SMSF’s. Basically, Claire loves working with businesses of all shapes and sizes.
Matt Fender is an Accountant at Wear Accountants. Matt is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has over 5 years’ experience in the accounting industry, after making the change from hospitality business development. Matt has a real passion for working closely with clients to manage and achieve their goals…and subjecting the office to his afternoon tone-deaf singing!
Linda Hopkinson is a Senior Accountant at Wear Accountants and has held a Chartered Accountant qualification for 22 years. Linda has been working across public practice, digital commerce, property development, and financial services. Her experience spans from small businesses to large, publicly listed groups which means Linda has a significant understanding of the more complex corporate accounting and tax issues. Linda is an avid coffee drinker, and you can always find her at her desk with a warm cuppa and a big smile. Caffeine + numbers = happiness!
Sharon Caling is a Client Services Co-Ordinator at Wear Accountants. Sharon has an extensive background in client services, having worked for over 18 years in a management position in the retail industry as well as her family’s business. She has also recently completed her Cert IV in Bookkeeping. Sharon takes a great deal of care in her work to ensure clients are supported and we can deliver the best possible outcomes.

Tracey Waddell is a Corporate Services Co-ordinator and Bookkeeper at Wear Accountants. Tracey has over 25 years of experience having worked in various industries, giving her a diverse skill set in bookkeeping, corporate services and administration management. Tracey has completed a Cert IV in Bookkeeping, Cert in Governance Practice, is a Xero Certified Advisor, and an ASIC guru. Tracey enjoys working with clients to keep their accounts up to date and on track. Tracey likes all things organised and balanced, so we know she’s working in the right profession!

BECOMING A CLIENT
To help you learn what’s involved to change accountants, we’ve developed our step-by-step process to becoming a client of Wear Accountants.
Your next step is to complete a tax review. This is a great opportunity to get a second opinion on your affairs and to minimise your tax and protect your assets.
Then, if we think you’d benefit from switching to us, we will complete a fixed-fee proposal for our services that are relevant to you from The 6-Step Service Plan™.
Next, if you so wish, you can use our easy change-over process to switch accountants to Wear Accountants with just a couple of signatures. We’ll handle the rest for you.
You’ll then be introduced to your team who will be supporting you. We’ll appoint ourselves as your tax and ASIC agent and set up access to your software.
Then we’ll complete a review of your accounting software to make sure you are operating effectively, and that the information is correct, giving clean accounts.
We’ll then transition you into your monthly, quarterly or annual client care cycle based on your service plan, including the ongoing support you need from your accountant.
