Are you looking for a Gold Coast accountant who can truly support you and your business?
Hi, I’m Mel Wear, the founder and principal of Wear Accountants. I’ve been supporting businesses in public practice for over 25 years. I know how hard business is; it’s complex, confusing and constantly changing.
It gets even harder when you have to navigate fluctuating economic conditions. That’s why I started Wear Accountants to support you in your business.

HOW WE HELP OUR CLIENTS
We have developed Wear Accountants around three key features.
WHAT WE DO
We’ve developed The 6-Step Service Plan™ to provide the support that each business owner needs from their accountant to help them make better business decisions.
Every business needs accounting, tax and compliance services. This is the foundation of a well-run business, and something you can leave to our experienced team.
The second step is to use our experience to make sure your business is set up and managed properly with strategies to legitimately minimise your tax.
The fourth step is about making sure you have the right accounting processes in place and that you’re using your accounting software effectively.
Next, if you don’t have the time or staff to do bookkeeping and payroll, we can do it for you. We can support you on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.
As well as our core accounting functions for business owners, we also offer support for our clients in the following areas.
We can support you with your SMSF and use our knowledge to help you stay compliant with the complex rules and regulations. We can prepare your annual SMSF financial statements helping you meet your statutory requirements while reconciling all accounts to check your figures are correct.
We can support you or a loved one to manage your financial admin, including cleaning everything up and keeping track of things going forward, streamlining your accounts, making sure you’re not paying for things you no longer need or being overcharged, helping you manage your personal budget.
We specialise in helping business owners who are in dispute. This could be disputes between family members or business partners. We work directly with them to help build the case to resolve the dispute, working closely with solicitors, mediators and forensic accountants, if required.
We specialise in supporting self-funded retirees and high net worth individuals, including helping to manage their affairs, detailed knowledge of SMSF, tax planning and giving them access to our network of trusted legal and other professional advisors for more complex transactions.
"We have had a long association over many years with Mel Wear who has helped steer our business very successfully to ensure we are a stable, profitable and dynamic business. Communication with Wear Accountants about issues relevant to our business is done in such a way that we understand with great clarity the advice we receive and the best way to implement it; in other words no corporate speak. Having a good accountant on board is an essential part of any business success and Wear Accountants are bloody good accountants."
Thomas Direct Pty Ltd
"Mel Wear and her team have managed our accounting, business structure, tax planning and self-managed superannuation needs for many years. We have the utmost faith in their ability. Wear Accountants support and advice is provided in a prompt, friendly, and efficient manner. Fees ….. it’s really difficult to be positive about fees! But its money well spent; overall I think we get a better return from investing a dollar with Wear Accountants than we do by investing a dollar in our own business! I would have no hesitation in recommending Wear Accountants. Mel and her team are experienced professionals and they have developed a friendly and accommodating culture in their practice."

BECOMING A CLIENT
To help you learn what’s involved to change accountants, we’ve developed our step-by-step process to becoming a client of Wear Accountants.
Your next step is to complete a tax review. This is a great opportunity to get a second opinion on your affairs and to minimise your tax and protect your assets.
Then, if we think you’d benefit from switching to us, we will complete a fixed-fee proposal for our services that are relevant to you from The 6-Step Service Plan™.
Next, if you so wish, you can use our easy change-over process to switch accountants to Wear Accountants with just a couple of signatures. We’ll handle the rest for you.
You’ll then be introduced to your team who will be supporting you. We’ll appoint ourselves as your tax and ASIC agent and set up access to your software.
Then we’ll complete a review of your accounting software to make sure you are operating effectively, and that the information is correct, giving clean accounts.
We’ll then transition you into your monthly, quarterly or annual client care cycle based on your service plan, including the ongoing support you need from your accountant.
